Evennett Impresses, Golding Seals P3 in the Series

The Trico Trans Am Series is all wrapped up for another year, with Jimmy Golding remarkably taking third in the points despite missing three out of seven rounds in 2025!

Concluding on the fierce streets of Adelaide, our five-car assault – with Edan Thornburrow returning to fill in for Golding – got stuck in with a hectic Thursday program.

Lachlan Evennett started the weekend 15th on the timesheets in Practice 1, improving by Qualifying to claim eighth on the grid. Jordan Cox and James Moffat were fast in practice, backing that up to go third and fifth fastest in qualifying. That effort coming despite a plethora of impeding issues, notably affecting Cox in a hairy moment on what would have been his fastest lap.

Race 1 of the weekend was the cleanest of the round, however a staggering of track limit penalties mixed up the results. Evennett reaped the rewards for a inbounds drive, vaulting from eighth to third post-race. Cox and Moffat were both demoted a spot to fifth and seventh, while Tom Davies and Thornburrow moved forward from qualifying to finish 12th and 13th.

Half points were awarded for Race 2, after a start line incident left Moffat with significant damage and subsequently triggered a sizeable impact with the turn 8 wall. The clean-up resulted in the race being red flagged with just 3 laps completed.

The team worked hard to repair the LMCT+ Mustang, but unfortunately some residual damage saw him return to the lane in the opening laps of the final race.

Evennett and Cox engaged in a stunning battle for the podium places, with Evennett emerging in second while Cox was cleaned up as the innocent party – bringing to an end what would have been the best round of 2025 for the Schaeffler Mustang.

Thornburrow and Davies, who shadowed each other all weekend long, jumped inside the top 10 to end the season with finishes of eighth and ninth.

Evennett earned his first Trans Am round podium, finishing second for the weekend.

Golding hung on to third in the points, with Moffat taking fourth and Cox sixth. Evennett vaulted his way to seventh, with Davies finishing the season in ninth.
