Jordan Cox and Schaeffler Make Trans Am Leap for 2025

Jordan Cox and long-time backers Schaeffler will take their partnership to new grounds in 2025, with a full campaign in the Trico Trans Am Series for Garry Rogers Motorsport.

Cox has been a forerunner in the TCR Australia Series since 2019 and recently made history in 2024 with two wins in his brand new Schaeffler Peugeot P51 308 TCR, the first wins worldwide for the brand new GRM designed and built chassis.

Schaeffler, an innovative motion technology company, are global leaders in world motorsport and have developed a reputation for backing front-running competitors in Australia’s most competitive competitions.

GRM first welcomed Schaeffler’s iconic green and white colours to the team in 2022 before Cox joined the partnership in 2023, since which Cox has netted 11 podiums and four race wins in TCR Australia.

It won’t be a series debut for Cox, who made his Trans Am debut in 2024 at Queensland Raceway. The 31-year-old also brings experience from multiple starts in the TA2 Muscle Car Series.

Round one of the 2025 Trico Trans Am Series kicks off at Hi-Tec Oils Race Tasmania from March 22-23 at Symmons Plains Raceway. Every single Trans Am session will be part of the extensive broadcast package that includes coverage on Fox Sports, Kayo and SBS.

Jordan Cox, #33 Schaeffler Ford Mustang
“I’ve been watching the GRM crew go Trans Am racing for a few years, there’s been a few championship wins and good results along the way, super keen to join them and do something new and exciting.

“Schaeffler is backing us again which I’m super proud of, I can’t wait to be representing their brand again and in a new environment. They were pretty enthusiastic about Trans Am as well, so it’s an exciting move for them.

“With a bit of experience in these cars in the past we’re definitely hitting the ground running. I do some work on these cars outside of racing as well, so I understand them quite well. It’s such an exciting category, everything about it is looking good and is growing.

“Stoked to welcome Viola Private Wealth on board for this season as well along with all of our partners on the 33 Mustang.

“Rubbing’s certainly racing in Trans Am, and we’re pretty committed to being a part of that racing at the front.”

Warren Barnett, Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions Manager, Pacific.
“We are very excited about the move to Trans Am and continuing our partnership with GRM and Jordan. Racing in Trans Am is very competitive, which translates to great on-track action. We can’t wait to see how the season will unfold.”
