All to Play for at Penultimate Round of S5000 Season

The Australian Drivers’ Championship is well and truly still to play for as we enter the penultimate round of the season in S5000, at The Bend Motorsport Park!

This weekend we’ll be fielding five cars at the high speed Tailem Bend circuit, where the category hasn’t visited since 2019. Aaron Cameron, Jordan Boys and Nic Carroll are joined by Ben Bargwanna and Kody Garland who both made their first start of the season at the most recent round in Sydney.

Cameron needs to find just two points to claim the series lead, after sweeping the weekend last time out. Boys will be eyeing up third in the standings, as he’s just 19 points away from the end of season silverware. Carroll sits not to far back in seventh, while Bargwanna and Garland are 10^th and 13^th having only done one round so far.

There’s no form guide to fall back on for this round, as no one in the field featured during S5000’s only previous visit to the circuit. Cameron did win a TCR race at The Bend back in 2019 however, and Boys claimed a sensational 11^th place finish as a wildcard entrant in the 2022 Supercars round at the circuit. Garland also has success at the circuit, winning in Aussie Racing Cars last year.

All we know for certain is, it’s going to be cold!

We’ll hit the track from August 18-20 as part of the action at the OTR SuperSprint!
