Proud Moment for GRM with Two Drivers Gracing International Stage

Two-time reigning Turtle Wax Trans Am Series winner Nathan Herne will make his international racing debut next month, contesting the final round of the National Trans Am Championship in the United States at Circuit of The Americas in Texas.

The deal makes Herne the second GRM driver to race overseas in what will be the space of one week with Aaron Cameron representing Australia at the FIA Motorsport Games in France on October 29-31, before Herne competes in Texas from November 4-6.

Herne will make a cameo as part of the Stevens-Miller Racing squad where he will join Evan Slater, Tyler Kicera and Rhett Barkau in driving a Ford Mustang as part of the factory Howe Racing Enterprises squad at COTA. Cameron is already in France where he will race a Team Clairet Sport-prepared Peugeot 308 TCR, a connection that will also see Teddy Clairet race for GRM at the Bathurst International.

Having two drivers competing on the International stage is a huge point of pride for a GRM team that has long prided itself on developing and nurturing young talent in Australian Motorsport.

This is an extremely proud moment for GRM to have two of our drivers compete on the international stage within a week of each other,” said Barry Rogers.

“There is no doubt that Nathan’s results in Australia have sparked the interest of the Americans and although locally he has not been given opportunities at a higher level it is a real boost from him to know that his abilities are being recognised internationally.”

“It is awesome that we will have an Australian representing us in touring cars at the FIA Motorsport Games,” said Garry Rogers.

“We all know that motorsport isn’t accepted or considered an Olympic event, but this is as close as it gets. We’ll have our home grown product representing Australia and the GRM team, and that is very exciting for us.”
