GRM Finalises 2018 Drivers

Wilson Security Racing GRM will again field two cars in both the Virgin Australia Supercar championship and in the 2018 Dunlop Super2 series.

As previously confirmed James “Bieber” Golding steps up to join Garth Tander in the main series.

Mason Barbera returns to team for a second season in the Super2 Series.   In his first season Mason experienced many ups and downs, yet always remained positive and was continually learning.

Having had previous success in the V8 Ute Championship Mason found the transition to Supercars tougher then expected but towards the later part of the year really started to get on song unfortunately he crashed during practice at the Newcastle event.  After repairs to the 99 car Mason showed us in Sunday’s race he has the speed to be competitive and has developed a better understanding of the Supercars series versus the Utes.

“After one season in Super2 it’s great to be back at GRM again.  I learnt a lot in 2017 driving the Supercar and can’t wait to get behind the wheel again in 2018.  I am very grateful to Garry and Barry and the whole GRM team for believing in me to keep me onboard for another year,” said Mason Barbera

We are also very pleased to welcome Chris Pither to our Super2 team, as we previously announced Chris will be join the team for the Endurance races.

Chris last raced in the Super2 full time back in 2015 and can’t wait to return to the series and be part of the team for the Endurance campaign.

“I feel I had a solid endurance campaign this year off the back of my full time season in 2016, including my pole position and top 10 finishes, I can keep building and carry that momentum into 2018” said Chris Pither

“To have my racing commitments confirmed prior to Christmas is a great feeling going into what will be a big year ahead.”

Richard Muscat continues with team as an Endurance driver in 2018.  Richard will also be racing overseas next year.
